How to Use

1

Take a picture

Snap any image that interests you–a painting, book cover, or photo.

2

Choose a voice

Select a personality from our catalogue that matches the character.

3

Give instructions

Tell your avatar how to behave and what role to play.

4

Add context

Provide background information for richer, more accurate conversations.

5

Start the conversation

Point your phone at the image and begin talking with your avatar in AR.

Avatars in Your World

Avatars are anchored in your physical space. They see what you're looking at and insert 3D objects or images into your AR world–generated in real time to illustrate exactly what they're explaining.

Rodin Places The Thinker

The sculptor himself materializes a 3D model of his masterpiece on your table, explaining the philosophy behind the pose and inviting you to examine it from every angle.

Tolkien Brings Middle-earth to Life

Using images, Tolkien shows how WWI's trenches influenced the Dead Marshes in Lord of the Rings, merging history with his fictional world.

Einstein Guides Your Setup

Einstein shows you exactly where the cable goes–he places an AR router next to your real one with the cable already plugged into the correct socket, making setup foolproof.

The Gift of Character

The world's knowledge becomes more interesting when filtered through a fascinating personality. AI doesn't just mimic speech patterns–it captures how someone thinks, their wit, their way of explaining complex ideas. Coupled with voice cloning, the presence is surprisingly real. It feels like spending time with someone you admire.

Woody Allen

On hysteria, Dostoevsky's influence, and the neurotic condition

Tyrion Lannister

Game of Thrones wisdom, wit, and survival–in character

Ludwig Wittgenstein

Philosophy of language–and how his work mirrors how LLMs learn

Conversations at Scale

Avatars don't just broadcast–they listen. Thousands of people ask questions, share concerns, tell their stories. Your avatar engages authentically with each one, then summarizes what matters most and brings those insights back to you.

A political campaign avatar engaging with voters–listening, answering, and summarizing thousands of conversations.

Where animAR Works

From museums to trade shows, classrooms to campaign trails–intelligent avatars bring context and conversation to physical spaces.

Museums & Cultural Institutions

Bring paintings and artifacts to life. Historical figures appear through AR to explain their work and answer questions.

Education & Learning

Interactive lessons with historical figures and thinkers. Students can ask Tolkien about Middle Earth or have Wittgenstein explain philosophy.

Community Management

Scale authentic conversations with thousands of people. Avatars engage individually, then summarize key concerns and insights.

Advertising & Trade Shows

Brand ambassadors that never sleep. Posters and booth displays come alive with interactive AR experiences.

Technology

animAR Technical Architecture

Advanced Lipsync Engine

At the heart of animAR is our custom-optimized diffusion-based lipsync model. While competing solutions rely on simpler interpolation techniques, diffusion models produce nuanced expressions that capture the subtlety of human communication. We've pruned and optimized the architecture for real-time performance on mobile devices, achieving the quality of diffusion models with latency suitable for live AR interactions. The quality difference is immediately apparent.

Optimized for Mobile and AR

We stream synchronized video via HLS (HTTP Live Streaming), ensuring smooth playback, low latency, and efficient bandwidth usage across mobile devices. Our infrastructure is purpose-built for real-time AR interaction, delivering responsive avatars that feel present and immediate.

Tool Use: Intelligence Beyond Conversation

Controlling our backend infrastructure end-to-end enables a transformative capability: avatars can use tools. Through our Tool Integration Layer, avatars interface with search engines, knowledge graphs, image generators, and custom APIs. They don't just talk about the world—they interact with it.

This means avatars can place visual answers in your AR environment, manipulate 3D objects, retrieve live data, and respond to context in your physical space. They become intelligent agents, not scripted characters.

Team

Ryan Henderson

Ryan Henderson, Ph.D.

Machine Learning

Ryan's career spans prominent roles in both academia and industry. At Bayer AG, he developed Graph Convolutional Neural Networks (GCNNs) that significantly improved the accuracy of drug discovery prediction, accelerating computational drug discovery. His groundbreaking research has featured at leading conferences such as ICML (International Conference on Machine Learning).

At Exogene Ltd., Ryan successfully architected and benchmarked state-of-the-art immunological peptide enrichment models, integrating complex biological datasets with AWS infrastructure to optimize model performance. As the co-founder and CTO at copfX, he built machine learning-driven commercial solutions focused on cognition and behavioral analytics.

At animAR, Ryan leads the AI and machine learning pipeline, overseeing the integration of advanced speech recognition, generative language models, and real-time lip-sync animation. His deep technical expertise ensures animAR delivers realistic, responsive, and intelligent AR avatars, redefining how users interact with information in the physical world.
